What personal data we collect and why we collect it
This website is hosted by WordPress which by default does not gather any personal data. However personal data is also generated from technical processes such as contact forms, comments, analytics, and third party embeds which will be explained (to the best of our ability) in this privacy policy statement.
When contacting blcp through the website we collect personal data such as name, email address, phone number as well as a short message from the person making the inquiry. This is for customer service purposes. It enables us to contact possible clients directly on receipt of inquiry . Personal data gathered in contact forms from the blcp website is retained (in an email) for the period of time that the individual remains a client of blcp, after which, this information is deleted by blcp. If the person making the inquiry through a contact form on the website does not become a client of blcp then these emails are deleted immediately.
If you do become a client of blcp more detailed information will be required such as medical information and family history etc. This is gathered for preventative medicine purposes. This information is held in confidence, in a hard copy only, and is not processed by third parties. Additionally all hard copy information is held in a securely locked alarmed building for a period of 7 to 10 years. The information is held for this time period in order to satisfy both insurance and regulation guidelines. You will be asked to sign a hard copy consent form to gather this information in person only when you become a client of blcp.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site (e.g. in response to an article on the website) we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at: https://automattic.com/privacy/
After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Comments by visitors to the website are different to the contact forms section of the website. Please see more information about contact forms below.
Media
If you do upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Contact forms
This website uses the plug in Contact form 7 . When making contact through the website a persons name, email address, phone number and short message is requested for customer services purposes. This is forwarded on to the email address michelle.blcp@outlook.com so that contact can be made. Contact form submissions are held by blcp for the period of time that the individual remains a customer of blcp. When the person is no longer a customer of blcp, emails with contact form submissions are deleted. All data submitted within contact forms is not processed by blcp for marketing purposes.
Contact form 7 plugin supports Ajax-powered submitting, CAPTCHA, Akismet spam filtering and so on. With the default configuration, this plugin, in itself, does not:
- track users by stealth;
- write any user personal data to the database;
- send any data to external servers;
- use cookies.
When certain features are activated by admin in this plugin, the contact form submitter’s personal data, including their IP address, may be sent to the service providers

Who we share your data with
By default this website host WordPress does not share any personal data with anyone.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

How we protect your data
Information gathered by blcp through the contact form is sent by email to blcp. It is protected by security measures such as passwords and pin code access which only blcp staff have access to. Any other data gathered through additional technical processes such as cookies, analytics or third party embeds is protected under these technical service providers own privacy policies.
All staff have been made aware of GDPR information and guidelines as provided by IACP (Irish Association Counsellors and Psychotherapists).
What data breach procedures we have in place
In order to prevent data breaches blcp regularly maintains this website through regular updates of existing plugins. We also use the services of k.webdesign for any technical issues with the website including data breaches.
